e-NABLE Fellowship - Karuna's Trumpet Holder - New Base Design
After re-measuring the test print pieces from yesterday, I drew some curves to add a bottom to the base piece. I also modified some of the hole sizes and placements for where the brass tubes come out of the valves and shortened the main piece... Prints have been sent, so hopefully I will be able to test the prints today and make final designs tomorrow.
I am an elementary band director, who will soon be starting two students on trumpet/cornet. These students need adaptive devices to hold the instrument up while they play. One student has poor muscle tone and is confined to a motorized wheelchair. The other student has two fingers on each hand. They are both physically able to play the instrument, but need help in holding up their instrument. Do you have any advice?
Hi Janet, Thank you for commenting on my post! I am currently developing this device but I might be able to take a look at your students’ needs once I have the design completed... It might be as simple as adding a tri-pod style mount to the trumpet adapter design for the student in the wheelchair.
